Who is Reece Mennie and why is he important? He’s a property investment and development expert, particularly focused on sourcing capital and providing investors with strong returns. At the same time, he is currently easing the UK’s housing shortage. After more than 8 years of experience and growth, he is now looking to expand his reach to the US.
Reece’s abilities, skills and eye for business started showing at a young age at 15 years old. He discovered he liked and had a talent for sales and later discovered he was also interested and passionate about real estate. He’s the co-founder of Hunter Jones in 2013, where he has been responsible for high-level investment opportunities and was his first big success, when he transformed it from a startup to a multi-million pound empire in just 3 years. He then founded HJ Collection and Bigas Marketing, which have also shown great results.
His personal slogan is “some people dream of success while others wake up and work”, as is stated in his website. Reece’s success can be measured by his results. He has raised around 80 million pounds for property developments over the past 6 years; developed 1,000 units at a GDV in excess of 350 million pounds; and completed 30 projects in the last 5 years with his development partners.
Apart from his success, Reece is recognized for the way he works in business. He cares and is conscious of the communities he works in and makes sure that they also benefit from his projects as much as the investors.
To support the communities he works with, his companies are partnered with the charities The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Lupus UK, and Richard House London’s First Children’s Hospice. He also launched the Dennis and Dyer Boxing Academy, with the objective of helping improve people’s physical and mental health while supporting the next generation of boxers.
As a recognized figure in the industry, he saw the value of his experience and opinion in his field of expertise, which is why he created the podcast series Mennie Talks, where he interviews recognized business leaders. Some figures include Ledlye King, Paul Rothschild, Jeremy Snape and many others.
As his next goal, Reece wants to become a real presence in the US just as he is in the UK. This will definitely present many challenges, due to how unpredictable things have gone in such a market, especially considering the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermaths. In his journey, he has experienced many challenges and has learned to see them as opportunities.
In the US, he plans to “keep pushing on with our developments and bringing high specification, affordable living to the areas we develop in. I’m sure it will be an exciting year for all businesses to bounce back and get back to their best.”
